The author, Cynthia Lord is posting a picture a day of her hometown. She invited all of us in cyberspace to do the same. For my first photo, I'm showing my roots. Here's a banyan tree hugging a coral rock wall in Palmetto Bay (once known as "unincorporated Miami-Dade County" when I was a kid...just a few miles south of the city). The trees remind me of a home for Mowgli in the Jungle Book. I walked barefoot on their massive branches and swung from their vines.
Sometimes I still do.
